Sleep Disorder Center
Getting a good night’s sleep is critical for optimal health. As you age, the amount of sleep you need changes, but in every stage of life, sleep impacts brain function, physical and mental well-being, and even muscle repair and injury recovery. Falling and staying asleep can be difficult. At Monroe Surgical Hospital Sleep Disorder Center, we provide accurate diagnosis as quickly as possible in order for treatment to begin.
When to Consider a Sleep Study
Almost everyone experiences difficulty sleeping during periods of high stress or other abnormal circumstances. However, if the problem impacts daily life, a sleep study may be needed to identify any underlying conditions. Sleep studies are done under the observation of certified technicians who monitor your breathing, brain activity, eye movement, heart rate, and muscle activity. Overnight sleep studies are available Friday through Monday.
